It is become to be huge public question about the name of Disgorge for both Usa and Mexico, which one should be stop using the name, which one is better, which one is brutal althought we all know the bands have different style. Well, it's time to stop throwing those boring childish questions to each bands, let say that a name of Disgorge mean a lot for the fans and the scene, they both rules in each different style, Disgorge Usa breaking the walls with their own unstopable brutal blasting as Disgorge Mexico very smart combining old Swedish tones with fucking intense Carcass influenced in song writing, off course the band have brutal tight blasting too. All I can say about this album is sick, I try to listen every inch of their beats and riffings and vocal patterns for hours and "Gore Blessed To The Worms" is the best material ever written. Imagine if old Entombed played with two times faster beat and when they hit the slow parts sometime it remind me to old Carcass, Disgorge has bring both goregrind and brutal death metal into a same bowel, don't skip their first track "Deadflesh Everywhere" which in my opinion its describing maturity, brutality and bloodbath.Althought their original vocal Antimo left the band but they still killer and solid in this new full lenght. Worms blessed to the Disgorge...hails !!!
I admit I was quite disappointed when I read that Edgar’s label released Karnarium’s discography without even mentioning anything since I released that band’s first 7″. Not that I needed any royalties, but at least a free copy and an email of courtesy was the least he could do. Nonetheless, I will be objective when judging his band’s newest work.
The cover artwork is not my piece of cake. The computer 3D effects are really out of my schema, I really enjoyed the autopsy on the first album and the sculpture in the second one but starting from the third album, the vintage looks seemed to disappear and now we got this new work from Phlegeton which while full of gore, really looks too shiny and modern for an early Carcass inspired band. Rot and CGI don’t really go hand in hand, no matter how sick you make it. And there is not even a lyricsheet inside. Pff.
But coming to the music, the good shit is still crammed in like maggots on a rotting bowl of viscera. Edgar’s vocals are very sinilar in style to those of Antimo, same deep froglike gargles with occasional phlegmy leaks, which are still perfect for the onslaiught. Even the mix is excellent. The recording is maybe a little less compact than on “Goremassacre Perversity” but still way cleaner than the earliest works. But what’s good, the clearer sound does not really impact the sewage barabarity of their music. The drummer is still one of the heaviest weights in the biz, able to pummel the skins like few else. I noticed a few metallic extra dissonant melodies in the mix, which were really not needed, but it’s good to hear the black flame is alive.
Cannot tell much about the missing lyrics, but the song titles sound sick enough, while non exquiste pathological fantasy as in the beginning. They seem to follow the leads of the previous “Necroholocaust”. Overally speaking this is good shit, still extremely complex gore-death-grind if with some quite geeky keyboard exploites which do not fit the place at all. Surely at the same level as the third album, and we’re talking about big standards here. The closing song is a jewel, go for it if you should listen to one song only.
Mexico’s Disgorge continues to churn out pummeling DEATH FUCKING METAL that is slow, thick as fuck, and peppered here and there with some effective Grindcore sequences and technical flair. Drummer Willy is a machine, his speed (some serious bass triggers on this one) augmented by a keen sense of rhythm and an impeccable flair for precise rolls and fills that help punctuate the guitar shreds. Guitarists Edgar and Gerardo (who also do the grunt/screech type of vocal assault) really know how to fuck with the fret, the resultant sounds pure paranoia. Rounding out these surgeons is Hector, who thumps the bass to Willy’s beats. The wall of noise that this band manages to produce can be overwhelming, but a closer listen shows that there’s a lot of subtle technical work going on, particularly the interplay between the instruments and a keen sense of melody that emerges from the best discordance. Lyrically, these are some twisted fucks, as a visit to their website will give even the stalwart need to hurl (we’re talking pics of late-term abortions here, mates). Make sure to glove up before you even touch this platter.
Meksykańskie tornado pozostawia po sobie zgliszcza... Taką metaforą można opisać skutek obcowania z płytą „Gore Blessed To The Worms” DISGORGE. Jest to czwarte, duże, studyjne wydawnictwo zespołu, na który przyszło czekać trzy lata. Prawdopodobnie tak długi niebyt był spowodowany przebywaniem w trasach (w końcu w międzyczasie był zapis koncertu w Niemczech), jak i zmianą na stanowisku wokalisty - Antima zastąpił Edgar, który obowiązkami podzielił się z Gerardo (no i ci dwaj panowie obsługują gitary). Zawartość nowego krążka to klasyczny, brutalny death metal, mocno ocierający się o grindgore. Muzyka jest rzeźnicka, bezkompromisowa, intensywny, szybka, sieczkowata. Album jest bardzo konkretny i skomasowany; w lekko ponad 30-tu minutach upchnięto 10 utworów. Bynajmniej nie znaczy to jednak, że DISGORGE koncentruje się wyłącznie na prędkości i agresji. Gdzieniegdzie wplata średnie tempa, by później się rozpędzić - i trzeba przyznać, że bardzo dobrze to wychodzi. Tak więc kapela idealnie masakruje (a zwłaszcza perkusista Willy), ale też - jak przystało na profesjonalistów - radzi sobie we fragmentach umiarkowanych, równocześnie odwołując się do takiego old schoolowego, CARCASSowego feelingu. A gdy w „Cadaveres” na chwile pojawiają się klawisze, to jest to naprawdę kosmiczny moment! Poza tym utwory DISGORGE bazują na tnących gitarach rytmicznych, jak też cieszą choćby te krótkie solówki (w „Pest.Blood.Metal”, „Next Mortuary Division”, „Necro.March”). Bas znacząco buczy, a chwilami nawet wysuwa się przed inne instrumenty. Do tego dochodzi bulgoczący wokal jako nieodłączny element kapel death/grind i nie inaczej jest na „Gore Blessed To The Worms”. Zresztą wszystko to idzie w parze właśnie z ogólnym przesłaniem twórczości grupy: patologiczne dźwięki współgrają z przesiąkniętymi zgnilizną tekstami. I cóż to za zuchwałość: babskie cycki topić w morzu krwi?!? (patrz: okładka). Generalnie muzyczna jatka w wykonaniu DISGORGE jest wzorcowa, urozmaicona, przemyślana. Zresztą zespół dobrze „kontroluje” swoje opętanie, w takim sensie, że nie popada w kakofonię. A na to nakłada się jeszcze ciężkie, jak i bardzo czytelne brzmienie. Czy można chcieć czegoś więcej?
Por fin tras bastante tiempo en silencio vuelven a escena los mexicanos DISGORGE. Autores de obras de portadas tan horrendas como “Forensick”, una de las bandas más conocidas del Death / Grind más gore de Méjico, regresa con una nueva obra, que como a continuación relataré es continuista de “Necrholocaust”, tras un tiempo de incertidumbre en la banda por las idas y venidas de alguno de sus miembros.
Recuperando los fotomontajes en la portada, esta vez a cargo del cantante de WORMED, Phlegeton, y mucho más moderada que los dos primeros discos de DISGORGE, los mexicanos regresan, ya sin Antimo en sus filas, con un disco que confirma el camino tomado en su anterior disco y lo conecta con la locura y el caos de sus primeros discos. Con una producción limpia, pero a la vez cruda, el Death / Grind de la banda sigue intacto, si bien tirando más de su parte Grind que en “Necrholocaust” donde se apoyaron en unas estructuras más pegadizas (lo que les sirvió a muchos para decir que se habían vendido).
Temas como “I Watch Myself Rot” o la bestial “Next Mortuary Division”, llenan el aire de cambios de ritmo, cajas de batería tocadas a todo trapo, estructuras caóticas y los riffs típicamente Grind del grupo, esta vez multiplicados en potencia por la adhesión de un segundo guitarra. Es curioso ver como una de las señas de identidad del grupo sigue intacta: la voz, esa fabulosa combinación de una voz ultra gutural con otra que parece sacada de un gorrino en plena matanza, se mantiene haciendo aún más enfermos los temas, que ya es decir.
Se aprecia, de todas formas, una intención por meter elementos nuevos en las guitarras en forma de riffs más variados como en el tema título del disco, “Gore Blessed To The Worms”, todo ellos integrado en una estructura aún más caótica de lo que ya son las composiciones de DISGORGE. Esta evolución de las guitarras se ve también en uno de mis temas favoritos del disco, “Cadaveres”, siendo este hecho lo más llamativo de este trabajo, que para mi gusto es lo mejor de la banda.
Los que no conozcan a los mexicanos, avisar de que no son precisamente la mejor manera de acompañar unas sobremesa. Hay que estar bastante acostumbrado a estas sonoridades para disfrutar al máximo de una pieza tan brutal como esta. No es fácil, pero siendo DISGORGE una de mis bandas favoritas y de las primeras extremas que escuché en mi vida, no puedo dejar de recomendar sus discos. Una vez que sobrepasada la muralla sónica te darás cuenta de los buenos que son cortes como la rockera (a su manera) “Pest. Blood. Metal”, nuevamente con una forma de componer sorprendente.
Una auténtica sinfonía enfermiza como en su momento dijeron los dioses CARCASS, ya que además los temas no tienen apenas separación entre sí, golpeando sin descanso nuestra cabeza con sangre, vísceras y delicadezas afines. Todo con un regusto old-school indispensable como los ultraveloces ritmos Thrash de “Beneath The Lugubre...” demuestran, o nuevamente, en las variadas guitarras llenas de riffs superpuestos que rozan la perfección en “Necromarch”, con una estructura que te dejará exhausto.
Una advertencia antes de acabar. Que nadie confunda a DISGORGE mexicano cono los americanos de igual nombre, pues las propuestas musicales de ambos son bastante diferentes aunque ambos sean exponentes de sonoridades extremas. Una vez aclarado este punto para los no iniciados, no me queda más que recomendar este disco. DISGORGE consigue perfeccionar su estilo y alcanzar una madurez ya entrevista en anteriores trabajos. Una obra de arte, enfermiza sí, pero arte al fin y al cabo.
