The band was founded in 1996 under the monicker of GENOCIDE and in the fall of the same year recorded their first demo entitled “Grinding”. In the middle of '97 new songs were made but got to record them in May of '98 under the title of “Vilification”, their 2nd demo. This was the band's first proper studio recording. At the end of the year they stopped using the name GENOCIDE and changed to current name GUTTED.
In 2000 they recorded a promo CD with 4 songs on it. This Promo CD was sent to labels and a few magazines. GUTTED’s first album called “Defiled” was recorded in the spring of 2001 and released by the Japanese Eclipse Records in the same year.
In 2004 they started to write new material for a 2nd album entitled “Human Race Deserves to Die” which was released worldwide through Nice To Eat You Records in March of 2005. It was followed by a European Tour with WASTEFORM from New York.
In 2006 GUTTED made an eastern European Tour with RADIKALIS AMPUTACIO and KOROG. In 2007 the band closed its all activities and stopped playing. But members (Gábor, Zsolt, Sándor) couldn't live without this thing and re -activated the band at the same year's end.
2008 was devoted to writing new material, no live shows at all. 3 new songs were recorded for promotional purposes only. GUTTED started looking for a label and got signed with Russian extreme Metal label Soul Flesh Collector so in November 2010, the 3rd album entitled “Mankind Carries the Seeds of Hell” was released released.
In 2014 GUTTED started to work on their fourth album and in early 2016 got signed to Spanish label Xtreem Music who released “Martyr Creation” in December of the same year.
