AMPUTORY started back in 2009, just to jam out some good old Death Metal tunes. Once they got the current line-up together and had a clear vision of what they were doing, things started getting together. Pretty soon they realized that is was about time to write songs for real. Pekka and Saku had a band called Pestigore in the early 90’s, and that legacy has more or less been their guideline while composing the songs. Amputory is all about Death Metal, no crossover shit, no female vocals, no violins... just guts and gore.
AMPUTORY released two demos, the first one in 2010 and the second in 2012, and the feedback was quite positive. In summer 2012, the band signed a deal with Xtreem Music, so they started writing new songs for an upcoming debut album that was recorded during the whole year 2014 and released in spring 2015 under the title of “Ode to Gore”.
Live shows for AMPUTORY have been unleashed only in Finland until now, but with the release of their album, they’re looking forward to desecrate the rest of Europe and beyond. If old-school Death Metal is your forté, its highly recommended that you give Amputory a spin... no bullshit, no poser-core... ONLY DEATH IS REAL!
