ASHCLOUD started 2006 in Sundsvall, Sweden under the name Skinbag. To begin with it was a solo project with Jonny as the only member. A few demos were recorded with classic sound of old school Swedish Death Metal infused with Crust Punk. Jonny kept recording songs, but felt that the project needed to become a band with more members to be involved in the creating process, but by 2010 put it on ice due to his duties in Syn:drom.
In 2013 Jonny and Gareth met, and started talking about coming together to play some old school Death Metal. The though grew, so Jonny and Gareth started writing songs, most based on the old demo tracks, with some new ideas added to the mix. During 2014 they had a strong set of songs worthy to be unleashed on the world. By the end of the year they had finished the album. Not happy with the band name they decided to change it to ASHCLOUD. Picked up by mighty Xtreem Music they released their debut album “Abandon All Light” on 10th of March 2015.
Ashcloud aim to create a blend of Crust Punk and old school Swedish Death Metal with a dark atmosphere.
