DRÅP was formed in the small northern Swedish town of Sundsvall in January 2013 by vocalist Joachim Lyngfelt. Catharina Ottander, Joachim's mother, passed away from cancer in 2010, and the initial idea was to record an album dedicated to her and not perform live, but when the pieces started falling into place and gig requests rolled in more and more, DRÅP became an intense live band.
In October 2013, DRÅP recorded the first album "En Naturlig Död" (A Natural Death) which was mixed and mastered by John Henriksson, being self-released only on vinyl version in early 2014. Later on, in fall of the same year, DRÅP contacted Xtreem Music which was immediately interested in releasing the album on CD format and this one came out in December 2014.
